We Can Relate! is a podcast and videocast dedicated to fostering healing in relationships, with both oneself and others. Co-hosts Katie Heeran, a licensed Psychotherapist and Yoga Instructor, and Diane Squier, and Embodiment Coach and Tantra Healer, provide a supportive and compassionate space for listeners facing inner and external relational challenges.

PEOPLE-PLEASING: Pathological Accommodation at it's Worst
In this episode, Katie Heeran, a licensed Jungian Therapist and yoga teacher, and Diane Squier, an Embodiment Coach and Tantra Healer, talk about a trauma response called Pathological Accommodation. This happens when a person attempts to take care of other people's feelings to the detriment of themselves. This is typically done out of fear, and it separates one from their own valid and important thoughts, feelings and experiences.
